🏛️ U.S. moves to create taskforce focused on illicit crypto use

On Wednesday House Resolution 5036 was referred to the House of Representatives for consideration. The bill hopes to create the "Independent Financial Technology Task Force to Combat Terrorism and Illicit Financing" which would bring together law enforcement leaders to investigate illicit cryptocurrency uses. While the bill would initially focus on proposing ways to curb such activity it would also establish rewards for individuals or entities that provide information leading to convictions for malicious actors using cryptocurrencies to fund terrorist activities.
