The evolution of utility on Ethereum

A series of new developer tools led by Metamask’s release in early 2016 set the stage for a new wave of apps and use cases (token sales) launched in 2017, which profoundly impacted Ethereum’s rate of utilization. Ethereum now appears to be at a turning point for a new app-infrastructure cycle. New infrastructure will enhance Ethereum’s performance capabilities. But the ultimate outcome will be the creation of new, perhaps unforeseen use cases that drive the next wave of adoption.
