🗽 New York state sees first conviction for crypto money laundering

Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has convicted two men, Callaway Crain and Mark Sanchez, of money laundering $2.8 million worth of controlled substances through a dark web market, NextDayGear. The duo sold some 10,000 packages from 2013-2018 with purchases typically made in Bitcoin ($BTC) and transferred through multiple wallets to mask trades. Crain and Sanchez are expected to serve between 2.5 and 7.5 years. Pertaining to the case, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R.
