Facebook’s David Marcus: Libra crypto users won’t have to trust us

In a note to the public published on Facebook, head of blockchain development David Marcus pushed back against recent comments concerning Libra's independence from Facebook and lack of decentralization. Marcus argued that multiple custodial and non-custodial wallets would be available with Calibra being an option. Facebook would also not have access to user information: "Bottom line: You won’t have to trust Facebook to get the benefit of Libra."
