On July 23rd, 2018, Etherscan users reported that they saw a pop-up alert with the message of "1337". Upon further investigation, it was a code injection attack from the Disqus comments. Thus, the Etherscan team has disabled the summarized Disqus comments at the site page footer and made a patch that will encode the footer comments to prevent future similar incidents. As of now, there are no risks of compromised systems that the team is aware off, other than the pop-up alert.
