📅 Ethereum devs propose activating Constantinople hard fork in late February

After a Friday phone call, Ethereum ($ETH) core developers set the date for the second swing at the Constantinople hardfork: Feb. 27, 2019 on block number 7,280,000. The buggy Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIP)that caused the delay will be left out and used for a later hard fork. Core developers are pushing for the Constantinople upgrade sooner rather than later due to the implementation of Ethereum's difficulty time bomb, which makes block times longer and pushes the network towards Proof-of-Stake (PoS) adoption.
