Emin Gun Sirer is launching his own blockchain, Ava

Emin Gun Sirer, a professor at Cornell University and blockchain startup advisor, will launch his own cryptocurrency protocol called Ava, Bloomberg reports. The stated goals of Ava are to obtain 1.35 second confirmation latency and enable applications “that aren’t even possible yet,” according to Sirer. A private test version of Ava launched on May 16, 2019.
