🚫 Crypto political donations banned in California

California's Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) voted 3-1 to ban political donations made in cryptocurrencies. Concerns around the origins of such donations, and the ability to trace them, were behind the decisions. Under Federal Elections Commission rules candidates for federal office are able to accept crypto donations. California joins South Caronlina as the second state to ban such donations, while Colorado and Montana allow them but with restriction.
