Binance planning to launch ‘Venus,’ similar to Facebook’s upcoming cryptocurrency Libra

According to an announcement earlier today Binance plans to launch an "independent regional version" of Facebook's Libra stablecoin called Venus. Venus plans to create "localized" versions of stablecoins built on top of Binance's blockchain and existing exchange infrastructure. According to Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, better known as CZ, Venus plans to co-exist alongside Libra, hinting that it could be used in countries like China or India where Libra can't operate.
