🐜 Ant Financial to step up scrutiny over crypto OTC

Alibaba affiliate Ant Financial is cooperating with Chinese regulators to scrutinize peer-to-peer cryptocurrency trading on its Alipay mobile app. China notably banned crypto trading and ICOs in Sept. 2017 but some exchanges continued to offer over the counter trading and individuals continued to exchange cryptoassets between themselves. Ant Financial will monitor customer accounts, merchant accounts, and websites that integrate the Alipay gateway.
