Monetary maximalism arguments are often arguments by analogy and overlook real hurdles Bitcoin ($BTC) faces. Crypto companies skim the froth off the top of all crypto assets and none are likely to alter course. Bitcoin is dependent on cultural adoption and its community of homogenous libertarians hold only one of many social visions for money. Altcoins appeal to various biases, like energy wastage in the PoS v. PoW battle, which determine social narratives and perhaps the final winner.
