Maple

Lending

Maple, formerly known as Maple Finance, is a DeFi platform specializing in institutional lending. The platform enables institutional borrowers to access overcollateralized loans using digital assets as collateral, while accredited investors and institutions can earn yield by providing liquidity to these lending pools.

The original native token of the platform was MPL, which was used for governance and staking within the Maple ecosystem. In late 2024, Maple transitioned to a new token called SYRUP. The SYRUP token now governs both Maple and its DeFi-focused extension, Syrup.fi.
