SSV Network Project Update

Get Caught Up

  • SSV Lido Module (SSVLM) Proposal Progress: Clusterform, an independent SSV Labs subsidiary, advanced a proposal to approve the architecture, mechanics, economics, and responsibilities of the SSV Lido Module (SSVLM) — a permissionless staking module that leverages SSV Network's Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) to integrate Node Operators into the Lido on Ethereum operator set, with the potential to eventually replace the SimpleDVT module 1. Voting on the proposal began on March 17, 2025, and concluded on March 24, 2025, passing with 100% of votes in favor 23. This matters because it positions SSV's DVT infrastructure as a core component of Lido's staking architecture, with staking rewards allocated across the Lido Protocol (4–6%), Node Operators (2–3%), and Module Operations (2–3%) 1.
Note: Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) is a system that splits a single Ethereum validator's key and operational duties across multiple independent nodes, so no single node failure can take the validator offline — improving resilience and security.

Biggest Stories of 2025

  • SSV Lido Module (SSVLM) Proposal Passed: Voting on the SSVLM proposal concluded with 100% of votes in favor, approving a permissionless staking module that integrates SSV Network's DVT into Lido's operator set and could eventually replace the SimpleDVT module. This remains relevant as it cements SSV's role in one of Ethereum's largest staking ecosystems. (March 24, 2025) 3
  • SSV Lido Module (SSVLM) Voting Opened: Voting commenced on the SSVLM proposal, which outlined the module's architecture, economics, and stakeholder responsibilities, with staking rewards split among the Lido Protocol, Node Operators, and Module Operations. This marked the formal governance step toward deployment. (March 17, 2025) 2
  • SSV Lido Module (SSVLM) Proposal Introduced: Clusterform initiated a forum discussion to approve the SSVLM's architecture and economics, with planned deployment on the Holesky testnet in Q2 2025 and mainnet subject to audits and an onchain vote in H2 2025. This was the foundational step for expanding SSV's DVT into Lido's staking operations. (February 27, 2025) 1
Note: No SSV Network-specific developments were identified within the past 7 days or the past 30 days, so those sections have been omitted. The most recent SSV Network item available dates to March 2025.

SSV Network Profile

SSV Network is developed by Blox, the founders of non-custodial ETH staking tool Blox Staking and previously, crypto accounting, tracking, and management platforms Blox.io, and CoinDash. CoinDash conducted an ICO of CDT tokens in July 2017. During the ICO, an incident occurred where a malicious address was swapped out for the original ICO address published on the project’s website, and public sale participants sent 43,000 ETH (equivalent to ~$7 million at the time) to an apparent wrong address controlled by a malicious actor. Public sale participants received their CDT allocations, and the malicious address sent 30,488 ETH back to the project team in three installments.

In March 2018, CoinDash rebranded to Blox.io. In 2021 Blox closed down the Blox.io platform and pivoted to develop Blox Staking. In February 2021, Blox Co-Founder Alon Muroch was part of a team that received a grant from the Ethereum Foundation to build a DVT protocol. Blox is now independently building a DVT protocol, SSV Network, and conducted a redenomination and rebrand of CDT to the SSV token in October 2021. SSV Network (presently on testnet), involves users with at least 32 ETH supplying their choice of network operators with key shares derived from existing validator keys for distributed operation.
