Arcium Project Update

Get Caught Up

Public Testnet Phase 2 and the "Request For Products" initiative. Following the launch of Phase 2 of its Public Testnet, Arcium published a "Request For Products" outlining the application categories it intends to prioritize based on market demand 1. These include encrypted DeFi use cases such as dark pools (private trading venues that hide order flow to prevent front-running), private perpetuals, private lending and borrowing, and blind auctions, all of which rely on encrypted shared state to prevent leakage of sensitive trading information 1. The initiative also targets prediction and opinion markets, confidential DAO treasury management, hidden-information games, and privacy-preserving AI/ML applications like encrypted retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and training 1. This matters because it signals Arcium's transition from core infrastructure development toward defining concrete, demand-driven use cases ahead of mainnet.
Acquisition of Inpher's core technology and team. Arcium announced the acquisition of core technology and the team from Inpher, a data privacy and security firm, to strengthen its confidential computing capabilities 23. The move is intended to accelerate development of privacy-preserving, decentralized computing solutions, particularly in encrypted data processing and secure multi-party computation (MPC — a cryptographic method allowing multiple parties to jointly compute a function over their private inputs without revealing those inputs) 2. This positions Arcium to advance applications in encrypted DeFi, AI, and prediction markets, and differentiates it from competitors that rely on Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) by emphasizing trustlessness and decentralization 24.
Partnerships with Darklake and CrunchDAO, plus NVIDIA Inception acceptance. Arcium has partnered with Darklake to advance encrypted DeFi and with CrunchDAO to advance encrypted AI, extending its privacy technology into real application verticals 56. The project was also accepted into the NVIDIA Inception program, which supports innovative startups in AI and data science, lending credibility and technical resources to its confidential computing roadmap 56. Together, these developments reflect Arcium's strategy of building on existing blockchains rather than launching a new chain, and of targeting both crypto-native and broader enterprise use cases 78.

Arcium Profile

Arcium was co-founded in 2022 in Baar, Switzerland, by Yannik Schrade and Julian Deschler. The project originally began under the name Elusiv, aiming to solve fundamental privacy and confidentiality limitations in the Solana ecosystem and broader Web3. Early on, Arcium established itself as a zk privacy protocol before evolving into a comprehensive confidential computing network.

In November 2022, the team announced a seed and strategic funding rounds for $3.5M and $5.5M respectively, led by Greenfield Capital with participation from Coinbase, Heartcore Capital, Longhash VC, and Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko bringing the total total funding to $9M by mid-2024. By 2025, the total funding rose to $15M, with valuation of $200M.

Arcium’s “Encrypted Ecosystem” highlights integrations with major Solana projects, cross-chain protocols, and AI infrastructure projects.

March 2025 saw more than 25 projects leveraging Arcium’s technology. Industry adoption efforts, including supporting “Confidential DePIN,” decentralized gaming, and encrypted NFT tooling, have been core to ecosystem growth. At that time, Arcium also acquired web2 confidential computing company Inpher, further bolstering its core technology.

By October 2025, Arcium Public Testnet Phase 2 went live, described as the first “fully featured” iteration of the network. Additionally, the mainnet was confirmed for Q4 2025. The launch is planned to go live on Solana mainnet with select node operators, targeting production use, early ecosystem revenue, and rapid scaling of confidential apps. Nodes will be managed by Arcium alongside select industry-trusted validators.
