Mission
Messari brings transparency to the cryptoeconomy. We want to help investors, regulators, and the public make sense of this revolutionary new asset class, and are building data tools that will drive informed decision making and investment. We believe that crypto will democratize access to information, break down data silos, and ultimately give everyone the tools to build wealth.

Our team is an exceptional crew of industry experts and creative problem solvers. Our backgrounds span a diverse landscape of fields including mathematics, public service, economics, engineering, finance, linguistics, urbanism, philosophy and art.
Leadership
Prior to founding Messari, Ryan was an entrepreneur-in-residence at ConsenSys, and on the founding teams of Digital Currency Group, where he managed the firm’s seed investing activity, and CoinDesk, where he led the company’s restructuring & annual Consensus conferences. He has been an investor & prolific writer in the crypto industry since 2013.

Diran previously built enterprise analytical platforms at Palantir. Moonlighted as a blockchain engineer working on market data. And built data pipeline services for Microsoft Azure at Microsoft. He holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.

Eric joined Messari from S&P Global where he was a financial technology research analyst. During his time at S&P he was a leader in blockchain strategy and testified in front of the Senate Banking Committee as an expert witness in fintech. Eric has also worked at Fidelity Investments and Prudential and is a CFA Charterholder.

Prior to joining Messari, Florent was President of the second largest European student consulting club where he led market studies for 30+ companies including McKinsey & Company, Airbnb and Google France. While completing his master's degree at Essec Business School, he also created the most exhaustive crypto funds database, collecting information on 1,000+ funds and 6,000 investments.

Maartje has 20 years of experience in global capital markets. She began her career as an Equity Capital Markets banker at Citi in London. Over the course of a decade she helped raise more than $20 billion in convertible bond capital for public companies, working in Asia, Europe and the US. In 2015, Maartje joined Thomson Reuters where she was Global Head of Capital Markets. Prior to Messari, Maartje spent three years at Omniex, most recently as VP of Business Development.

Brent Gerundo leads Messari's finance and corporate development functions. Prior to Messari, Brent served for four years in the United States Army before transitioning to the private sector as an Investment Banking Associate at Goldman Sachs. He earned his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and undergraduate degree in International Studies from The Ohio State University.

Katherine Snow is the Director of Legal at Messari. Prior to her role at Messari, she was the associate general counsel at a cryptocurrency exchange. Before her in-house roles, she worked at Cooley, LLP, representing a roster of TradFi, blockchain and cryptocurrency clients. Additionally, she is a co-founder of TermScout, an A.I. driven contract intelligence service and a Techstars 2020 graduate. Katherine earned her JD from the University of Colorado Law School.
